PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decomposition treatment and a system for decomposition treatment for organic halogen compounds capable of continuously rendering an oil with a small amount of the organic halogen compounds harmless without requiring a process to separate a catalyst with low possibility of producing side reaction products. SOLUTION: The method for decomposition treatment for the organic halogen compounds to render the oil containing the organic halogen compounds filled or stored in a container harmless, enables the organic halogen compounds to be decomposed by adding a hydrogen donor and an alkali compound to the oil containing the organic halogen compounds, discharging the processed liquid from the container and continuously passing the liquid through a catalyst column, and then circulating it back to the container.
