<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous electrolyte battery capable of improving its cycle life. <P>SOLUTION: The non-aqueous electrolyte battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode containing a compound having a composition expressed by the following formula (4), and non-aqueous electrolyte. A<SB>z</SB>Fe<SB>(1-x)</SB>M<SB>x</SB>S<SB>y</SB>(4), wherein A is at least one kind of alkali metal element, M is at least one element selected from a group of Cu, Ni, Co, Mn, Mg, Al, Si and Cr, the mole ratio x, y and z meet the conditions, 0.0003≤x≤0.03, 1.08≤y≤1.3 and 0≤z≤2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
