PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paneling made of stainless steel used for a mirror plane of a decorative column, a decorative wall, an elevator or the like, and having excellent scratch resistance in the face. SOLUTION: In the paneling made of stainless steel, a stainless steel sheet subjected to mirror polishing is used as a base material, and an Ni-B plating layer with a film thickness of 1 to 10μm is provided. Instead of the stainless steel sheet subjected to mirror polishing, a plated stainless steel sheet to which luster is applied by subjecting a Cu or Ni-plated stainless steel sheet to mirror face roll rolling can be used as well. Its scratch resistance improves by the hard Ni-B plating layer, but, at the time when heating treatment is performed in a reducing atmosphere after the Ni-B plating, the scratch resistance further improves.
