PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which does not reduce a battery output even if a sealing plate 3 is crimped and fixed to a cylinder with bottom 11 by a large force, where the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery has a battery case 1, and the sealing plate 3 is crimped and fixed to the opening of the cylinder with bottom 11 via an insulation member 12. SOLUTION: The sealing plate 3 of the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is formed by bringing a first metal plate 31 made of nickel facing the outside of the battery case 1 and a second metal plate 32 made of aluminum facing the inside of the battery case 1 into intimate contact with each other. The second metal plate 32 has a thin-walled part 34 on which a clipping pressure of a crimping part 14 acts, and a heavy-walled part 33 inside of the thin-walled part 34.
