<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handheld terminal and its communication method in which power consumption of a CPU can be reduced by changing setting of a CPU operating clock signal to a lower frequency than a frequency during speaking and further maintaining a frequency of a memory access clock signal equal with a frequency during speaking. <P>SOLUTION: If a handheld terminal 100 is turned into in-zone and out-of-zone call arrival waiting states, a CPU clock control means 13 changes setting of a CPU operating clock signal which is set while the handheld terminal 100 is under speaking, to a low-speed CPU operating clock signal and furthermore, simultaneously with the setting change of the CPU operating clock signal, a memory access clock control means 14 performs control, so that a memory access clock signal to be supplied to a memory controller 2 which is provided in the handheld terminal 100 for adjusting an access speed of an external memory and an operating speed of a CPU, is maintained in the same setting as a memory access clock signal which is set while the handheld terminal 100 is under speaking. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
