SELF RESET TYPE PROTECTION ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize and thin a self reset type protection element by reducing a width of a cover to be a base of an element body by making one part of a lead terminal narrow in width. SOLUTION: The self reset type protection element comprises: a substrate 2; a pair of lead terminals 4 which are installed on the substrate 2 and whose opposed surfaces are mutually spaced; a movable electrode 6 which is fixed and connected to one of the opposed pair of lead terminals 4 and can be separated from the other; and the cover storing at least one part of the lead terminals 4 and the movable electrode 6. The pair of lead terminals 4 have a narrow width part 4b whose width is narrower than that of the lead terminals 4 protruding outside the cover at a portion contacting an edge face of the cover, and have a width narrower than that of the lead terminals 4 projecting outside the cover and wider than that of the narrow width part of the lead terminals 4 at the portion contacting the edge face of the cover at a portion where the movable electrode 6 is connected or separated.
