PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap used for pulling out an eraser inside of the cap from a pedestal of a mechanical pencil. SOLUTION: The cap is characterized by forming a protrusion 1 on the outer side face of the cap and a part 2 of the side face close to the eraser on the inner side face, and making a notch 4 in the side face. By an arrangement like this, the part 2 of the inner side face of the cap close to the inner side face of the cap to the eraser pinches the eraser 5 inside of the pedestal 3 by pinching the protrusion 1 with fingers and pushing it inside, and the eraser can be pulled out as it is from the pedestal.
