FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves placing material to be disinfected or sterilized into reservoir and pressurizing the latter; heating pressurized reservoir under water steam pressure and/or radicals pressure. Water steam pressure and/or radicals pressure are created by removing air and free space, before heating process, within and around material, and also by evaporating water and radicals absorbed and/or produced in natural manner on surface of said material. Apparatus has reservoir for receiving of material to be disinfected or sterilized, device for removing, before heating process, of air and free space within and around material, and device for hermetical closing of reservoir.
