PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the state change of cooling water in a cooling system passage from affecting detrimental effect on a power source. SOLUTION: A cooling system control method of a vehicle power source is provided with a water pump 201, a radiator 202, a heater core 207 to adjust the temperature in a cabin of a vehicle by cooling water, a bypass passage 205, a bypass passage 205 to reflux cooling water from a cooling water outlet of the power source into a cooling water inlet of the power source without via the radiator, a thermo-valve 206 to divide the outlet flow rate of the cooling water of the power source into a radiator side and a bypass passage side, a passage change-over valve 210 to conduct the area adjustment of the cooling water passage, an electronic controller 106 to control both the valves, etc., in the cooling water passage of the power source 101 of the vehicle. The total heating value of the cooling system of the power source is supposed by cooling system heating value which the cooling system of the power source stores corresponding to the water temperature of the cooling water, and heat discharge of the vehicle power source corresponding to the operating condition, and a target total heat value of the radiator and the radiator flow rate are determined based on there.
