PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump up device facilitating re-start under load. SOLUTION: Since an air supply valve 20 opens slightly if an air compressor stops during a compression stroke, pressurized air in a compression chamber is discharged to atmospheric air side via a gap formed between the air supply valve 20 and an inner surface of a cylinder and pressure in the compression chamber 17 drops. Consequently, since pressure in the compression chamber 17 is not high at a time of re-start of an air compressor even if a piston 10 stops during a compression stroke, load of a drive motor decreases and the air compressor 34 can be surely re-started.
