<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail which has excellent designability by preventing a light source from being exposed to the outside of the handrail. <P>SOLUTION: The handrail comprises a core material, a covering material for covering the core material, and the light source which is provided between the core material and the covering material; the covering material is composed of at least two synthetic resin layers; the inner layer is a transparent layer which is composed of a transparent synthetic resin; and the outer layer is a colored layer which is composed of a colored synthetic resin. When it is light in surroundings, the excellent designability is obtained by virtue of the colored layer as the outer layer of the covering material. When the light source is turned on because it gets dark in the surroundings, sufficient brightness is obtained by virtue of the transparent layer as the inner layer. It is because a sense of sufficient elasticity is obtained when the handrail is gripped with a person's fingers and the thickness of the covering layer is decreased, that the covering layer is composed of the two layers without being simply made thin. Thus, a finger touch and an appearance, appropriate for the handrail, are obtained, and the sufficient brightness is obtained when the light source is turned on in the dark in the surroundings. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
