<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power amplifier capable of amplifying a radio signal, which differs in modulation method, with appropriate power efficiency without requiring a control signal from outside, and to provide a power amplifying method. <P>SOLUTION: The power amplifier 100 comprises within the same module: a power distribution unit 103 for inputting a radio signal for distribution to a first radio signal RFin1 and a second radio signal RFin2; an amplifier unit 120 for amplifying the first radio signal RFin1; and a bias signal generating unit 130 for determining the modulation method of the radio signal based on an average power of the second radio signal RFin2 and the maximum power of the second radio signal RFin2 to generate a bias signal for determining the operation class of the amplifier 120. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
