PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a conventional differential oscillator whose start depends upon random noises so as to obtain high-speed, and moreover a stable operation amplitude. SOLUTION: A differential oscillation circuit is provided with an oscillator having a first terminal and a second terminal, and bias circuitry for applying a bias voltage to the first and second terminals of the oscillator. The bias circuitry does not apply the bias voltage to the second terminal of the oscillator, until a delay period passes after the application of the bias voltage to the first terminal of the oscillator, upon start-up. By making the oscillator unbalanced intentionally, by applying unsymmetrical big biases to both terminals of the oscillator in this way, when power is turned on, a high-speed and moreover stable start can be obtained. Incidentally, every kind of oscillators such as an crystal oscillator, an LC tank oscillator circuit, as an oscillator can be improved in this way. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
