PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for curing a coating film comprising a photo-curing coating material composition, whereby, compared with a case of using a general high pressure mercury lamp, the amount used of a photopolymerization initiator can be reduced and a cured coating film that is excellent in low-odor property and properties including hardness, chemical resistance, contamination resistance, dry-crack resistance, and the like, is obtained, the coating film formed by the method, and a base material coated with the coating film. SOLUTION: The method for curing the coating film comprising the photo-curing coating material composition comprises applying the photo-curing coating composition containing (A) a photo-curing resin and a (B) photopolymerization initiator that preferably conform (A)/(B)(weight ratio)=100/1 to 15 onto a wood base material, semi-curing the surface of the uncured coating film using the high pressure mercury lamp or a metal halide lamp, and then irradiating the surface with an electroless UV lamp so as to completely cure the coating film. The base material with the coating film formed by the method is also provided. It is preferable that any one or more types of a sealer coating film, an undercoating film, and an intercoating film are previously formed in this order on the wood base material.
