PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to cut a the same condition regardless of a kind of sealing compound, physical property and a size of a module, without a skilled worker and only acquiring an operation procedure. SOLUTION: When a plurality of hollow fiber membranes are bundled and inserted into a container, both ends thereof are sealed by an adhesive, a part of at least one side of the adhesive is cut and the end part of the hollow fiber membrane is open, a method for cutting the end face of a module comprises the steps of applying a blade bottom part of a rotated end mill to an opening face, automatically moving a rotation blade laterally and vertically to the opening face of a hollow fiber membrane module, and inputting an amount of movement from an operation screen, thereby allowing the rotation blade to be moved in a programmed orbit and carrying out cutting by adjusting a distance between the opening face and the blade bottom while automatically measuring a cutting overlap width in a vertical direction using a sensor.
