<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible balloon for a catheter and a balloon catheter with sufficient strength (pressure resistance) and excellent trackability. <P>SOLUTION: The balloon 1 for the catheter is provided with a cylindrical part 5 and catheter joint parts provided on both ends of the cylindrical part. Further, the balloon 1 has a base material layer 2 composed of a high strength polymer (base material forming resin) and a cover layer 3 composed of a soft polymer (cover layer forming resin) softer than the high strength polymer (base material layer forming resin) formed on at least one surface of the base material layer 2. The cover layer 3 is applied with 10% or more of stress by an internal pressure in a state of applying the maximum internal pressure inside the balloon, and the thickness of the cylindrical part is ≤25 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
