PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key telephone apparatus which is capable of controlling a handset of a curl-cordless telephone set so as not to be operation-disabled even after radio channel disconnection information is received from a key telephone set. SOLUTION: If an extension digital multi-functional telephone set 6 is hooked off for an incoming call from a telephone line 5, a key telephone set 2 transmits radio channel disconnection information to a base unit 1 of an extension curl-cordless telephone set. In order to start disconnecting a radio channel 17, the base unit 1 transmits the radio channel disconnection information to a handset 16 of the extension curl-cordless telephone set and monitors whether or not the radio channel is disconnected, using a radio channel disconnection monitoring section 18. If the handset 16 is hooked off, the handset 16 receives off-hook information with respect to the base unit 1. If the base unit 1 judges that the radio channel 17 is not disconnected, the base unit 1 transmits off-hook information which is generated by an information generation section 14, to a key telephone set 2, notifies the handset 16 of interruption of radio channel disconnection processing, and starts a talk using the handset 16.
