PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil-free reciprocating air compressor usable in a high pressure high temperature region, having high durability, and capable of preventing a thin piece impairing close adhesion property of a side face of a resin-made piston ring and a side face of a piston ring channel from being generated from the resin-made piston ring in accordance with operation. SOLUTION: This oil-free reciprocating air compressor is constituted in such a way that a piston 15 constituted by mounting the resin-made piston ring 20 in the ring channel provided on an outer peripheral face is slidably fitted into a cylinder 1 to suck and exhaust air from the cylinder 1 in accordance with reciprocating movement of the piston 15. Plating covering 21 made of aluminum metal and a silicone carbide layer in its inner surface slide part is applied to the cylinder 1. The resin-made piston ring 20 is formed by a self-lubricating resin composite material and a composite material containing graphite and other heat-resistant material for increasing sliding property.
