PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stop control device for an internal combustion engine capable of reducing resistance generated on a crank shaft at a time of stop of the internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: This stop control device for the internal combustion engine is provided with a start means 5 starting the internal combustion engine 1, a transmission mechanism 6 transmitting rotation of the start means to the crank shaft of the internal combustion engine, and a clutch means 9 arranged in a rotation transmission route of the transmission mechanism and allowing transmission of rotation in a direction rotating the crank shaft in a regular direction from the start means to the crank shaft and preventing rotation transmission form the crank shaft to the start means. An action control means 13 reversely rotating the start means to reduce resistance generated on the crank shaft in a process that the crank shaft rotates reversely at a time of stop of the internal combustion engine is provided.
