It is possible to realize virtual surround reproduction having reduced deterioration of the SN ratio as the entire reproduction system. When adding a virtual surround signal to an audio signal for the forward channel by an adder (1300), a sound volume normalization is performed by a sound volume normalization unit (1200) prior to performing the addition. When not performing the addition, each of the virtual surround signal and the audio signal for the forward channel is outputted independently without performing sound volume normalization by the sound volume normalization unit (1200).
