<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce a thumbnail moving video for a video image including field motion compensation in field structure without deteriorating image quality significantly as compared with an original video image. <P>SOLUTION: When field motion compensation in field structure is performed in a device for forming a thumbnail picture using an interlace image compressed by DCT conversion, the thumbnail picture is composed to hold information of both top field and bottom field of the interlace image, an evaluation point is arranged at a position suitable for future reference picture, and simple decoding is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
