PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bonded flux for submerged arc welding which can improve operating efficiency in monolayer/multilayer welding at large heat input and also can achieve highest quality in welding, when applying flat-position fillet submerged arc welding to welding to such steel-structures as a steel-frame, a bridge, etc. SOLUTION: The bonded flux contains SiO<SB>2</SB>: 21-29 percent by mass, Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>: 16-25 percent by mass, MgO: 15-25 percent by mass, CaO: 2-8 percent by mass, CaF<SB>2</SB>: 1-8 percent by mass, and TiO<SB>2</SB>: 4-12 percent by mass per total flux mass. When each content per flux mass of these SiO<SB>2</SB>, MgO and Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>is expressed as [SiO<SB>2</SB>], [MgO] and [Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>], respectively, the following formula: ([SiO<SB>2</SB>]+[MgO])/[Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>]=2-2.5 is obtained. Further, it is desired to also contain an Mn alloy of 1-10 percent by mass converted to Mn and metallic carbonate of 1-10 percent by mass converted to CO<SB>2</SB>. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
