PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially producing a 1-acetoxy-2,3-disubstituted propene compound of the formula(1). SOLUTION: The method for producing the 1-acetoxy-2,3-disubstituted propene compound of formula(1)( wherein, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each a 1-4C alkyl or bound to each other to form a methylenedioxy group or the like; m is 0-4; n is 1-5; and R<SP>3</SP>is a 1-10C alkyl ) comprises carrying out a reaction between an alkoxy-substituted benzene and a 1,3-diacetoxy-2-substituted proene in the presence of a catalyst comprising at least one compound selected from the group consisting of (a) a boron halide compound, (b) a triflate compound of a group 11 element, (c) a halogen compound of a group 12 element, (d) a triflate compound of titanium, (e) a halogen compound of titanium, (f) a triflate compound of tin, (g) a halogen compound of tin, (h) a triflate compound of a lanthanoid element with an atomic number of 57-71 and (i) a halogen compound of a lanthanoid element with an atomic number of 57-71.
