PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a light source device for an endoscope, which has an illuminating light radiation system having a simple structure. SOLUTION: A tilt angle of a micromirror of a DMD 36 is changed by axial rotation to cope with conversion of a light source for use. Therefore, a switching mechanism of the light source for use is unnecessary, and a structure of an illuminating light radiation unit is simplified. Since abnormality of a first light source 31 is immediately detected by a photo sensor 33 to quickly change the tilt angle of the micromirror, observation of a subject can be continued without a light emission stop period after stop of light emission of the first light source 31.
