PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high-reliability, low-cost, and high-performance optical receptacle having a fiber stub press-fitted and fixed to a metallic holder, by straightly force-fitting the fiber stub into the metallic holder without bringing about burr. SOLUTION: The fiber stub is provided with a front end surface 3a having a slope 6 and has a chamfered part 8 in a boundary part between the front end surface 3a and an outer peripheral surface, and a distance from a rear end surface 3b to a start point 7 of the chamfered part is uniform in the peripheral direction.
