A spherical casting sand which is produced by a method comprises melting a powder containing Al2 O3 and SiO2 as main components in a flame to thereby form a spherical melt form the powder; and a casting mold comprising the spherical casting sand. The casting sand exhibits a high spherical degree and a low hygroscopicity, and the casting mold is excellent in strength and has a smooth surface. |
