The invention relates to a method for operating an active chassis system. According to said method, wheels (1-4) of at least one axle are oriented at a toe-in angle and adjusting elements (9), which co-operate with support assemblies (6) that are positioned between the wheels (1-4) and the vehicle body (5), control the vertical forces (F11-F14) for the wheels (1-4), said forces having values that can be varied by means of the control of the adjusting elements (9). This generates a lateral force (FresV, FresH) on the wheels at a toe-in angle, producing a resultant yawing moment (Mz). According to the invention, a nominal yaw rate is determined in a control unit (12), based on information from a unit that is located in the vehicle and that determines the course of the carriageway and the vertical forces of the wheels are adjusted based on the nominal yawing rate. The invention can be used in motor vehicles, in particular passenger vehicles. |
