The present invention is related to a process for the production of high quality fatty acids and rosin acids and their mixtures from a refined raw material by means of solvent extraction with a hydrocarbon solvent characterized so that the raw material has less than 25% of water. By this way, the extraction process can be performed at normal conditions and without the use or addition of a polar or partially polar solvent.
