ARYLIDENE AND FURFURYLIDENE-ACETYL ACETAMIDE AND PROCESS FOR PREPARING THE SAME

The invention relates to arylidene and furfurylidene acetyl acetamides and to a process for preparing the same. Arylidene and furfurylidene-acetamides have the general formula (I): wherein R1 represents a furfuryl residue or a phenyl residue substituted with a nitro, methoxy or chloro group and R2 represents methyl, methoxy or chloro groups. The process consists in condensing the corresponding aromatic aldehydes or the furfurol with the acetyl-acetarylides, in a molar ratio of 1:1 in polar organic solvents (lowers alcohols), at a temperature of 20...25 C, in the presence of catalytic amounts of benzoic acid and piperidine.
