<p>The invention concerns a display device comprising a bistable nematic liquid crystal matrix screen with anchoring break, characterized in that it includes: components (40) capable of shifting from an off-state to an on-state, arranged respectively between a gate electrode (47) associated with each pixel and a display state control connection (45); and means for applying on the input of each said component (40) via the state control connection (45), input signals including at least two phases separated by a controlled time interval: one first phase during which the input signal has sufficient amplitude to allow anchoring break of the liquid crystal on the associated pixel, then a second phase during which the input signal amplitude is controlled to select one of the two bistable states of the liquid crystal, the time interval between the two phases being adapted to ensure the liquid crystal break on said associated pixel prior to the application of the input signal second phase.</p> |
