PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-traveling vacuum cleaner for which safety at the time of sucking a lighted object is improved by separately collecting the lighted object such as a cigarette and normal dust in two dust collecting chambers. SOLUTION: At the time of detecting that the lighted object such as the cigarette or a match is sucked from a suction port 10, the self-traveling vacuum cleaner 1 controls a valve 8a and collects it in the dust collecting chamber 12a. Also, normal dust such as dust and waste paper is collected in the dust collecting chamber 12b by controlling the valve 8a. In such a manner, since the lighted object such as the cigarette and the normal dust are separately collected in the two dust collecting chambers, other dust inside the dust collecting chamber is prevented from catching fire even when the lighted object such as the cigarette is sucked, and the safety at the time of sucking the lighted object is improved.
