<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably prevent wrinkles in an optical sheet in a large-size backlight device having large elongation of the optical sheet due to thermal expansion. <P>SOLUTION: In the backlight device having a diffusion plate 3 disposed in front of a fluorescent tube 2 as a light source and having a plurality of optical sheets 4 in front of the diffusion plate 3, a bimetal 6 as a thermosensitive element which contracts with increase in temperature is connected via a fixing bracket 7 to the edge of the optical sheet 4 and attached to a chassis 1 while tension in the outward direction is added to the sheet. When the temperature of the optical sheet 4 rises and the sheet expands by turning on the fluorescent tube 2, the expansion is absorbed by the bimetal 6 to prevent wrinkles in the sheet 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
