PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin composition excellent in strength/rigidity and impact strength at the time of high temperature with high productivity, and the fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin composition. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin composition by melting and kneading a thermoplastic resin and continuous reinforcing fibers by a twin-screw extruder, the twin-screw extruder having a part A for cutting reinforcing fibers continuous on the downstream side exceeding a reinforcing fiber supply position to control the length of the cut reinforcing fibers and a part B provided on the downstream side of the part A to disperse the reinforcing fibers cut in the part A is used and the reinforcing fibers are supplied from a position where the thermoplastic resin in the twin-screw extruder is in a molten state not only to cut the continuous reinforcing fibers in the part A but also to disperse the cut reinforcing fibers in the part B.
