PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge fitting device which can remove a slack from an ink ribbon by taking advantage of a fitting operation of the cartridge, and a tape printing device equipped with the cartridge fitting device. SOLUTION: In the cartridge fitting device, a cartridge 3 with a delivery reel 29 for an ink ribbon 21, a take-up reel 23 for the ink ribbon 21 and a case which accommodates the former two; and a take-up drive shaft 15 which is protrusively installed at a cartridge fitting part, of a printing device body, for the fitting of the cartridge 3 and rotates the fitted take-up reel 23 for a take-up operation, are provided. In addition, between the internal peripheral surface 37 of the take-up reel 23 and the external peripheral surface 38 of the take-up drive shaft 15, a cam mechanism 57 is provided which converts a linear movement accompanied with the operation to insert fit the take-up reel 23 to the take-up drive shaft 15, to a rotary movement, in the take-up direction, of the take-up reel 23.
