<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball which can realize an optimal back spinning amount in response to a golf club. <P>SOLUTION: This golf ball 1 contains a core 2, a cover 3 which covers the core 2, and a metal coating film 4 which is formed on the cover 3, and is constituted in such a manner that the static frictional coefficient of the surface of the golf ball 1 may be 0.4 or higher. In this case, the static frictional coefficient of the surface of the golf ball 1 is preferably to be from 0.4 to 0.8.
