摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately estimate an exhaust gas flow rate in exhaust passages each corresponding to a plurality of collecting means for collecting unclean substrate contained in exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: A collectors 25A, 25B collect black smoke particulate (unclean substance) contained in the exhaust gas. A differential pressure detector 24A detects first pressure difference between upstream and downstream in the collector 25A, and a differential pressure detector 24B detects second pressure difference between upstream and downstream in the collector 25B. The air flow meter 23A detects an air flow rate in a branched intake passage 16A, and an air flow meter 23B detects an air flow rate in the branched intake passage 16B. Immediately after the completion of a regeneration process in which the black smoke particulate in the collectors 25A, 25B is removed, a control computer 28 estimates the exhaust gas flow rate in the exhaust passages 20A, 20B based on the first and second pressure difference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
