PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated transverse plate spring type axle combined with functions of an axle and a suspension device by positioning a wheel in lateral and longitudinal directions like the axle and enabling the wheel to be vertically displaced like the suspension device. SOLUTION: A beam 1 (plate spring type axle device) is a plate spring type axle device for mounting the wheel 9 elastically to an automobile. The axle device is equipped with a single body member having a center part 3, first/second center spring plates 4, 4 extending from the center part 3 to the opposite directions of each other, at least a pair of side part spring plates 5, 5 extending from the center part 3 to the opposite directions of each other, and bushing eyes 7, 6 (connection means) for connecting the first/second center spring plates 4, 4 and at least a pair of the side part spring plates 5, 5 to the wheel 9 of the automobile.
