PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce ventilation resistance of warm air going to the foot part of a rear seat occupant while avoiding enlargement. SOLUTION: A bent blow-off passage 21 for a back seat and a foot blow-off passage 22 for the back seat are arranged in the vehicle width direction, and arranged along a warm air guide wall 30 of a warm air passage 12 so that air flowing through the bent blow-off passage 21 and 22 circulates in the opposite direction to the warm air flowing through the warm air passage 12. A communication passage 33 that communicates with the foot blow-off passage 22 for the back seat and has an opening/closing door 34 is disposed near a circular-arc bent section 32 on the upstream side of the warm air guide wall 30 of the warm air passage 12. Since the blow-off passages 21 and 22 for the back seat are arranged in the vehicle width direction along the warm air guide wall 30, the air conditioner is compacted. When the communication passage 33 is opened by the opening/closing door 34, the warm air from the communication passage 33 can be directed to the downstream side of the foot blow-off passage 22. Thus, the route of the warm air going from a heat exchanger 7 to the foot part of a rear seat occupant is shortened to reduce the ventilation resistance if necessary. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
