<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell which has a wide gas communication passage against the thickness of a unit battery, and in which sufficient gas is supplied to a power generation part even if it is made to be a thin-type. <P>SOLUTION: A spacer 5 and a separator 4 are laminated. In the spacer, a ventilation stepped groove 53a through which a gas passes and a fitting stepped groove 53b that is occluded by a separator 4 are respectively formed between a center housing opening to house the power generation part 3 and respective ventilation openings to constitute manifolds 6b to 6d. In the separator 4, a protrusion part 44 to curve-rise into the fitting stepped groove 53b is formed between a gas supplying part facing the power generation part and a ventilation hole to constitute the manifolds 6b to 6d, and a communication groove 45 communicated into the protrusion part along the face of the ventilation hole and the gas supplying part is formed.
