PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collection system for effectively capturing, regardless of properties, coating sludge floating in a water tank by a treating agent thrown into the water tank of a wet coating booth, securely recovering the sludge by a device for sending into a sludge treating apparatus, having easy maintenance and capable of stably recovering the coating sludge for a long time. SOLUTION: As an apparatus for recovering the sludge floating in the water tank, a moving plate is provided adjacent to at least one side of a recovery container mounted on a part of the water tank, and a rise and fall device intermittently rising and falling one end of the moving plate extending in a horizontal direction and flowing the sludge floating on a plate into the recovery container is provided. A suction port of a positive displacement pump is disposed in the recovery container to suck the sludge with treating water, only the sludge is removed by a dewatering device, and the treated water is returned to the water tank.
