<p>New depigmenting compositions (I), having prolonged, multiple action, comprise an inert excipient or carrier suitable for topical administration containing a combination of three melanogenesis modulating components, i.e.: (a) a kojic acid ester, (b) a boldine ester and (c) an amide of phenylalanine. ACTIVITY : Dermatological. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Melanogenesis modulator; tyrosinase inhibitor; calcium flux regulator; alpha -melanin stimulating hormone (alpha -MSH) antagonist. In tests using reconstructed skin, application of a cream (I) designated 'AD03' (composition not given in the source material) reduced the production of melanin by 84%.</p> |
