PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester composition for fiber having improved mechanical strength and abrasion resistance and excellent formability. SOLUTION: The polyester composition for fiber contains inorganic fine particles satisfying the following requirements (1)-(3). (1) The content of A is 0.01-5.0 wt.% based on the polyester composition, (2) the content of B is 0.05-5.0 wt.% based on the polyester composition and (3) the sum of A and B is≤7.0 wt.%. The component A is one or more substances selected from titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate and carbon black and the component B is one or more substances selected fromα-alumina,γ-alumina andδ-alumina.
