IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a favorable color electrophotographic image by using an image forming apparatus using an intermediate transfer body and an image forming method. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus to form a color image by using an intermediate transfer body, the supporting body of an electrophotographic photoreceptor is an aluminum supporting body with a surface oxidized film formed having 1.7 to 7.0 emission electron intensity ratio of aluminum oxide to aluminum metal by photoelectron spectroscopy. Each color toner used in a developing means is spherical toner having 140 shape factor (SF), and at least one of the each color toner contains an inorganic external additive having 0.1 to 1.0μm number average primary particle diameter. The apparatus has a cleaning means for the intermediate transfer body to remove the transfer residual toner remaining on the intermediate transfer body by use of a plurality of cleaning blades.
