<p>Friction body consists of friction layers (9, 10) provided with carbon fibers on a core body (8a, 8b). The length of the fibers in the layers is less than the carbon fibers in the core body. The friction body is made from silicon-infiltrated porous carbon reinforced with carbon fibers. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of a friction body comprising forming green bodies for the friction layers, forming green bodies for the core body, adhering the green bodies using a carbon-containing adhesive to form a molding for the friction body, pyrolyzing the molding, and infiltrating with silicon. Preferred Features: The length of the carbon fibers in the friction layers is 50% less than the carbon fibers in the core body.</p> |
