The vacuum insulation panel (3), for a thermal insulation board (1), has a gas-tight shrouding (2) covering both sides of a thermal insulation material held at the panel by an adhesive bond. The core is a micro-porous silicic acid, aerogel or an open-pore material. A plastics frame can be between the outer shrouding layers, and the ends of the board are structured with tongue and groove profiles to lock together.
