<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the structure of an optical bench, in which metal wirings can be connected smoothly between the optical bench and the front surface of a silicon substrate by a one-time lithographic process, optical pickup using this optical bench, and to provide a method of manufacturing the optical bench. <P>SOLUTION: This optical bench is for arranging an optical source for recording or reproducing the information in an optical disc and a photodetector for receiving the light. The optical bench includes an optical source stand 120 for attaching the optical source, a mirror surface 124 formed in front of the optical source stand 120, and a bottom surface 130 formed in between the optical source stand 120 and the mirror surface 124. The optical bench has a surface, on which the photodetector is formed and the optical source stand 120 are connected to each other by a first inclined surface 126, and the optical source stand 120 and the bottom surface 130 are connected to each other by a second inclined surface 131. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
