PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge and an ink jet recorder in which the degree of deaeration and cleanliness of ink can be guaranteed in an ink pack. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge comprises an ink delivery tube (plug body) 50 connectable removably with an ink introduction tube being coupled with a recording head through an ink passage, and an ink pack being connected with the plug body 50 to encapsulate ink. A first valve element opening/closing upon connection/removal of the ink introduction tube is disposed in the plug body 50 and a second valve element 63 is disposed on the ink supply side of the first valve element. The second valve element 63 comprises a check valve normally closing the line of the plug body 50 and opening it with an ink flow generated by pressurizing the ink pack. |
