PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base material for supporting support for photographic printing paper, which has superior re-disaggregation properties, in which permeation of developer from a photographic printing paper cut section is small, in the use as the photographic printing paper, even if the re-disaggregation raw material is mixed, which has high rigidity, and which is superior in rapid processing properties in an automatic development device. SOLUTION: In the base paper for the support for use in the support for photographic printing paper, in which both sides of the paper base are coated with a polyolefin resin, the support for photographic printing paper includes cationic polyacrylamide, having cationic strength of 0.5-5.0 meq/g, a molecular weight of >1,500,000 and≤2,000,000, and the mass 0.1-2.0 mass% of pulp, in the base paper.
