<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To send a golf ball flying to an accurate position and to stop the golf ball there by giving a back spin amount greater than a conventional amount to the golf ball, by a golf club head. <P>SOLUTION: When a golf club head 10 is set on a horizontal surface to obtain a loft angle and a lie angle which have been set, a first horizontal distance S between a lowest point B of a sole portion of the golf club head and a distal end point C of a face portion of the golf club head is 20 to 50 mm. Furthermore, a cross section Q is determined where a straight line L orthogonal with a shot surface 16 through a position on a shot surface of the face portion higher than the lowest point B by 14 mm crosses the horizontal surface, and when a second horizontal distance between this cross section Q and the distal end point C is defined as P, the first horizontal distance S is 0.9 to 1.2 times of the second horizontal distance P. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
