PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normally conduct shared exclusive control in an environment applying a remote copy by shared exclusive software on the premise of a shared storage device systems. SOLUTION: In a computer system in which an inter-host device network 1070 connects a site 1080a having the storage device system 1020a connected through a network 1010a such as a SAN (System Area Network), or the like and a site 1080b having the storage device system 1020b similarly connected through a network 1010b, each of the host devices 1000a-1000d has mediation emulation software, the shared exclusive control using an existing shared volume conducts mediation A2000 in each site, 1080a and 1080b, mediation B2010 conducts the shared exclusive control, and then two-stage mediation to conduct the shared exclusive control for mediation C2020 between the sites by the host device winning in the mediation in each of the sites is executed to decide one host device (1000a).
